Lucy Richmond

Growing up in Maryland, as the daughter of an oil painter, Lucy was exposed to art at an early age. She did not, however, develop a serious interest in painting until adulthood. Her career was in nursing and in between the job and raising three children, she took classes and workshops at the Corcoran School of art in Washington, DC, and the Art League School in Alexandria, Virginia. Lucy's early focus was on portrait painting, and she studied under Danni Dawson and Robert Liberace. After enjoying painting in Italy, her interests changed to plein air and landscape painting and further classes with Sara Linda Poly. Lucy works primarily in oil, and enjoys studio and plein air painting. She and her husband now live in Mt Pleasant, SC, where she is a member of both the Charleston and Mt Pleasant artist guild
